We know. Commitments can be tricky. "Is this too much?" "Will I fall short?" "Do I have what it takes?" Below are the Base Camp Practices broken down into three main areas; time for God, time for connection, and time for excellence. You're not going to doing everything perfectly. It's not going to go 100% according to plan. But we encourage you to be generous with your life during this unique time. God is never outdone in generosity. He is calling you to the heights.
TIME FOR CELEBRATION.
Celebrate the Octave (Sunday April 17th --> Sunday April 24th)

- Pray this prayer often "Holy Spirit Come, Fill me with the Joy of your Salvation! Thank you Jesus for your cross and resurrection."
- Celebrate with Joy each day with any of the following activities
- Have a treat: Bake a cake, eat ice cream, donut, steak, make a fun mixed drink, etc…
- Spend time outside: Go for a hike, fly kites, plant some flowers or vegetables, Hammock in the park with a good book
- Play sports, a board game, build a puzzle
- Play Music with people, Have a dance party
- Send someone an Easter Card
- Go for a Rosary Walk in a Catholic Cemetery and Pray for the dead
- Do service in your local area
- Get friends together to pray night prayer and drink tea, or pray morning prayer and make brunch
- Etc...
- After the Octave, Make a real effort to Make Sundays a true ongoing celebration of resurrection of Jesus Christ!
- Pray the Mass well! Pray with reading before Mass. Ask friends how they enter into the Mass and find little ways to dive deeper.
- Spend as little time on technology as you possibly can. (Phone, TV, Computer)
- Make fewer plans! Let Sunday be open for prayer, leisure, friends and family. (See Ideas above for leisurely activities)

- You're asked to spend 20 minutes a day in prayer using Sacred Scripture (daily passages provided)
- You'll be provided with a how-to examination of your day and journaling
- We're encouraging you to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation once a month.
- In addition to Sunday Mass, you'll be encouraged to attend one daily mass (more than you would normally do).
- Starting at Easter. A simple tool for lifting up prayers of thanksgiving everyday (guide here).
TIME FOR EXCELLENCE.

- Charge it elsewhere.
- Use your extra time to read a good book and exercise three days per week.
- Wake up, say a quick prayer include, "Come, Holy Spirit", make your bed
- Get outside! At least for 20 minutes.
- Wash every dirty dish right away - no dish left behind!
TIME FOR CONNECTION.
Weekly Climbing Group (In-Person and/or Virtual)
Have “eyeball time” every day.

- Each participant will be in a group of 3-4 young adults to meet with weekly (in-person or virtual) for accountability and building friendship. We are encouraging people to sign up as a group. If you don’t have a group, we will be able to place you with others. These climbing groups are of the same gender and similar age/state in life.
- Sunday's and Wednesday's there will be a 4-7 minute video that you will be able to watch and later discuss with your climbing group.
- Every month there will be a gathering of all of those involved with Base Camp with prayer and a time for community.
