WHy this women's event?
At Brew City Catholic, we've noticed a greater desire for companionship - walking intentionally with a smaller group of people who have the common goal of growing together. This is something that God engrained in us at creation, as Dorothy Day said: "Man is not meant to live alone." We are very grateful to have many young adults currently leading small groups across the Archdiocese, but we still have many people trying to find a community to get plugged in into. This is something Brew City desires to do - to help bridge the gap and get people connected. Maybe this desire for companionship is stirring in your own heart but you don't know where to find it? Maybe you are already lead a small group/Bible study and would love to welcome in more people? Maybe you would love to lead something like this, but need to find people to join you?
We invite you to join us Saturday, August 16! We are hosting a women's small group launch to help you all meet one another and get plugged in! We will have some social time at our own private party at the roller rink (to relive some of the childhood nostalgia), and then we'll have some time to connect with one another and learn about the the small group opportunities in your area! We'll conclude the evening with a simple dinner, short talk, and time for praise and worship. Join us for the afternoon, evening, or both!
MEN'S DAY RETREAT
Brew City Catholic is offering a simple Men's retreat on Aug 16th. We'll focus on the simple theme of pilgrimage during this jubilee year and how we as Men can live into that reality. We will be walking from St Robert in Shorewood to The Basilica of St Josaphat. We will have a few stops along the way for a couple short talks on Virtues of Humility and Magnanimity and time for sports, lunch, etc...
Simple Lunch and Snacks is included in your registration. Please note we will be walking about 8 miles rain or shine (unless it's a big storm). We will have a follow car that will track with us for any injury, etc... Depending on number of people, we will either have a bus shuttle us back or work out car shuttles. We'll provide a more detailed schedule and what to bring the week of the retreat.
