Rule of Life toolkit
In the year 516 (yes, you read that right, over 1500 years ago), St. Benedict wrote his "Rule of Life” that still governs the life of modern monks. It has survived the test of time because Benedict found the virtuous balance between “too much” and “not enough." “Rule of Life” doesn’t just mean a list of rules to follow. Writing our own “Rule of Life” is a way to hold ourselves accountable to building the Catholic culture that we want to live in- one of virtue, joy, and purpose. It’s just as important to pray about the culture that you want to foster as it is to include practical rules about morality.
Here at Brew City Catholic, we want to give you the tools and formation that you need to write and live out your own rule of life. The guide you’ll find here is the first one of those tools. It is here to help you prayerfully construct your own “Rule of Life.” We’ve also included an example of what a finished product might look like. Yours may be longer or shorter- that’s ok! Find what works for you and stick to it!
